ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Customer Service & Logistics Manager (CSLM) drives customer-focused solutions for the efficient supply of aggregates. Responsibilities include developing long-term material and logistics strategies and overseeing dispatch, shipment, and delivery operations.

 

Shifting from traditional order fulfillment, the CSLM enhances value-added services and leverages digital innovations to improve the customer delivery experience. Acting as an integrator, they collaborate across product lines to ensure seamless logistics solutions. Additionally, they lead or support cross-functional projects to enhance safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Enhance safety compliance by ensuring all hired transporters strictly adhere to Lafarge’s safety standards, reducing incidents, and improving workplace safety culture
  • Ensure hauler safety compliance by conducting incident investigations, managing the Safe Trucker Program, and overseeing annual orientation and record maintenance
  • Establish cost-effective, win-win relationships with transporters to lower freight rates and improve logistics efficiency
  • Improve customer service operations by analyzing customer service challenges, implementing solutions and enhancing overall customer experience
  • Establish a reliable system for freight rates on zone maps, large projects, and annual supply contracts to maximize profitability and ensure market stability
  • Effectively lead scale personnel management, ensuring optimal staffing, training, and scheduling to maintain seamless operations and exceptional service
  • Successfully resolve delivery concerns and billing discrepancies by collaborating with internal teams and customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction
  • Lead or contribute to special projects across regions and functions, driving business success, while leveraging digital tools and emerging trends to enhance customer delivery and improve operational efficiency
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: University Degree
Field of Study Preferred: Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management
Required Work Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience
Travel Requirements: Up to 40% travel within the Greater Calgary Area


Additional Requirements: 

  • Strong customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective people management and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient in clear communication and adept at negotiation
  • Proven ability to identify problems quickly, make sound judgments, and establish and implement solutions
  • Experience with leveraging new technology to enhance dispatch, logistics, and customer value-added services in transportation management and road safety is preferred.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities, driving them to completion within a fixed time-frame
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
