ABOUT THE ROLE

This university co-op opportunity offers hands-on experience in a corporate environment, supporting Lafarge Western Canada’s Cement group within the Customer Value Center (CVC). The successful candidate will be involved in day-to-day administrative, logistics, billing, and customer service functions, while gaining exposure to cross-functional collaboration with departments such as sales, credit, finance, and logistics. The role provides a unique opportunity for personal development and business learning based on the student’s interests, offering insight into Lafarge’s cement operations and ERP systems.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Support the creation of cement orders received via email and coordinate with carriers to support dispatch and delivery.

  • Assist in resolving customer billing issues and disputed invoices through collaboration with credit and finance teams.

  • Process credit card payments and perform reconciliation activities.

  • Maintain and update customer records, including account cleanup and reconciliation efforts.

  • Enter manual bills of lading and handle additional billing as required by the business.

  • Provide administrative support through platforms like Salesforce, including documentation and data updates.

  • Participate in development opportunities such as order desk backup, ERP training, or interdepartmental process learning.

  • Foster collaboration with logistics, sales, credit, and financial service center staff to streamline customer-related processes.

  • Follow standard operating procedures and ensure documentation meets audit and compliance standards.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Post Secondary Education
Field of Study Preferred: Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related disciplines
Required Work Experience: Co-op/internship or administrative experience is an asset but not required
Required Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace; familiarity with Salesforce or ERP systems is an asset

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
