ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an Expert - Reporting and Analytics to join our team and support our newly implemented SAP Analytics Cloud Platform. This role will be tasked with developing: dashboards, visualizations, grid-style reports, and other types of deliverables in SAC. This role will interact with team members throughout North America and may work in a remote or hybrid fashion depending on the applicant's preference. SAP Analytics Cloud is our visualization front-end that is integrated with Datasphere. Datasphere is our main data warehousing platform.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
  • Design, build, and maintain: dashboards, visualizations, and grid-style reports in SAP Analytics Cloud
  • Implement scripting, where necessary, to provide a clean and crisp user experience for the aforementioned deliverables in SAP Analytics Cloud
  • Partner and build rapport with key stakeholders across North America to solve complex business problems and help the business operate more efficiently wherever possible.
  • Gain an understanding of the various product segments in North America to develop standardized reports for Cross-Functional use across the business
  • Serve as SME for the SAP Analytics Cloud platform
  • Communicate data modeling and data schema requirements to the Datasphere (formerly Data Warehouse Cloud) developers and other support team members
  • Stay up to date on changes and updates in the SAP Analytics Cloud software via: following the SAP Product Roadmap and attending trainings, seminars, and other offerings by SAP as necessary.
  • Maintain an understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other key company metrics to be able to create and validate the necessary calculations to deliver user requirements in: dashboards, visualizations, and other deliverables in SAC
  • Proactively identify potential issues or areas for enhancement to support the company in maintaining a Best Demonstrated Practice in their Reporting, Data, and Analytics Initiatives
  • Ensure that all reports, dashboards, and other deliverables are developed with accuracy, performance, and scalability in mind to deliver the best end-user experience possible.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree or 5-7 years of equivalent experience

Field of Study Preferred: Information Technology, Analytics, Data, Finance/Accounting, or related field of study
Required Work Experience: 5-7 years of experience
Required Training/Certifications: Certifications in SAP Analytics Cloud, Datasphere, SQL, or Python are a plus

Required Computer and Software Skills: Experience in any number of the following tools: SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Datasphere SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC), SAP Business Objects, PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, SQL, Python, Scripting, APIs, JSON, OData connections, SAP HANA Databases etc. Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud are the tools that our team actively uses. Since the popularity of certain BI and Data Warehousing solutions changes over time, and all BI and Data Warehousing tools are conceptually similar, training will be offered as necessary should the applicant have general experience in BI and Data but not SAP Analytics Cloud and Datasphere specifically. 

Travel Requirements: 20%

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of BI, Data Warehousing, and related best practices, including knowledge of: SQL, Python, ETL/ELT, scripting, and other coding languages commonly used by BI/Data professionals.
  • Experience in working with Datasphere or BW HANA, third-party data sources, or other data warehousing platforms.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
