ABOUT THE ROLE 
Lafarge is seeking an experienced Concrete Foreman to lead our team on municipal concrete projects. As a Concrete Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of concrete construction, including curbs, sidewalks, and other structures. WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Plan, organize, and oversee concrete construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of concrete crew members, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications, and ensure work is completed according to requirements.

  • Monitor quality control and ensure that all work meets industry standards and client expectations.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address any safety hazards or quality issues.

  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns.

  • Train and mentor junior crew members to develop their skills and expertise in concrete construction.

  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures on the job site, including conducting safety meetings, inspections, and addressing any safety concerns promptly.

  • Plan, organize, and oversee concrete construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of concrete crew members, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Required Work Experience: 5 plus years of experience in concrete construction, with a focus on municipal projects.
Required Technical Skills: Basic aptitude for using applications. Must be tech-savvy with the ability to use Build2Win, SiteDocs and other programs.
Travel Requirements: 5%  
Additional Requirements: 

  • Proven experience in a leadership role, with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
  • Thorough knowledge of concrete construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
