Overview

As a Batch Plant Labourer, you will be essential in supporting the concrete production process by assisting with various tasks around the plant. Your responsibilities will include housekeeping, managing material inputs, and ensuring the efficient operation of the concrete batching equipment. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment will help contribute to the delivery of high-quality concrete mixes.

Responsibilities:

 

Housekeeping:

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the batching plant and surrounding facilities.

  • Regularly clean and remove debris from work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

  • Manage waste disposal and keep storage areas orderly.

 

Material Handling:

  • Add cement and other materials to the mixer as required, ensuring accurate quantities and proper mixing.

  • Assist in the loading and unloading of raw materials.

  • Monitor material levels and inform the supervisor when supplies need replenishment.

 

Batching Assistance:

  • Support the Concrete Batch Plant Operator by performing routine tasks related to batching operations.

  • Help with the setup and calibration of batching equipment.

  • Ensure that all ingredients are correctly measured and added to the mixer according to mix specifications.

 

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Conduct basic maintenance tasks on batching equipment and report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.

  • Assist with cleaning and routine checks to ensure equipment is functioning properly.

 

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper handling and storage of raw materials.

  • Ensure that safety practices are adhered to at all times and report any hazards or safety concerns.

 

Coordination and Communication:

  • Work closely with the Concrete Batch Plant Operator and other team members to ensure smooth plant operations.

  • Communicate effectively with team members to address any immediate needs or issues.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience in a similar labourer role, preferably in a concrete or manufacturing environment.

  • Basic understanding of concrete production and batching processes is an asset.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks and work in varying weather conditions.

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
