ABOUT THE ROLE 
We are currently seeking a seasonal, full-time Bridge Construction Labourer to join our team in our Bridge Maintenance Division in Northern Alberta.
 
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  •  Ability to work safely and follow safety guidelines
  •  Perform other duties as assigned
  •  Work in a team environment to ensure that project timelines are met
  •  Follow and adhere to all the Company’s safety procedures and directives
  •  Responsible to ensure all work is completed in a safe manner
  •  Perform work in outdoor construction site settings
  •  Ensure all safe work practices are adhered to.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School Diploma 
Field of Study Preferred: N/A
Required Work Experience: Bridge construction experience is considered an asset
Required Training/Certifications: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Travel Requirements: Willingness to work out of town within Alberta; most work will be remote. 

 

Additional Requirements: 

  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with coworkers
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies
  • Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • The successful candidate will exercise sound judgment, work safely, and communicate effectively in a team
  • Position requires physical demands such as crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling
  • Proven record of following safe work procedures and completing field risk assessments
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
