We are currently seeking a seasonal, full-time Bridge Operator to join our team our Bridge Maintenance Division in Northern Alberta.
 
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Pre and post trip inspections.
  • Minor truck and equipment maintenance.
  • Operate and maintain track hoes and all attachments.
  • Trenching
  • Fine grading & finishing
  • Excavation
  • Backfilling
  • Clean up sites.
  • Other labour duties as required.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School Diploma 
Field of Study Preferred: N/A
Required Work Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience operating a backhoe, excavator, or similar heavy equipment. Bridge construction experience is considered an asset.
Required Training/Certifications:Class 5 driver’s license
Travel Requirements: Willingness to work out of town within Alberta; most work will be remote

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work overtime and in all weather conditions
  • Proficient in operating heavy construction equipment (backhoe, excavator, etc.)
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and communicate effectively within a team
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling
  • Proven record of following safe work procedures and completing field risk assessments
  • Strong commitment to safety and ability to work safely under varying conditions
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
