ABOUT THE ROLE
Wells Construction, a Division of Lafarge Canada Inc., is looking for a Gomaco Operator to join our Concrete crew. The Gomaco Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining a Gomaco paver and its attachments, installing and maintaining Gomaco molds, and ensuring precise grading according to survey instructions. This role will also involve pre and post-trip inspections, minor equipment maintenance, site cleanup, and other labor duties as required.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Operate and maintain a Gomaco paver and all related attachments.

  • Install and maintain Gomaco molds for the concrete crew.

  • Perform grading according to survey markings.

  • Conduct pre and post-trip inspections of equipment.

  • Assist with minor truck and equipment maintenance.

  • Ensure site cleanup and perform other labor duties as needed.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required Work Experience: Experience operating a Gomaco paver is considered an asset.
Required Training/Certifications: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
Required Technical Skills: Knowledge of City of Edmonton Specifications, ability to read survey markings, mechanically inclined.
Travel Requirements: Local travel to construction sites around Edmonton, AB.
Additional Requirements:

  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling.

  • Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Knowledge of the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas.

  • Experience with equipment maintenance and field risk assessments is required.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
