Overview

The Welder. In this role, you will be able to fabricate and weld with limited direction. This is a fast paced production environment, so mechanical aptitude is required. You will need to be a safety minded individual who can think on their feet and adapt to changing situations.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Welder, you will:

  • Perform welding repair and maintenance to production-related equipment, machinery, and structures.

  • Utilize various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to join metal components according to project specifications.

  • Welding 6" pipe to flanges, elbow and 45's. Weld and fabricate 2 “ heat trace for 6” lines.

  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to execute precise welds.

  • Conduct visual inspections of completed welds to ensure they meet industry standards and project requirements.

  • Use non-destructive testing methods when necessary to assess weld quality.

  • Prepare work pieces by cleaning, cutting, and shaping metal using various tools and equipment.

  • Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of components before welding.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Responsible to ensure all work is completed in a safe manner.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience: 

  • Valid Journeyman’s Welder certification

  • Experience welding in an industrial environment is an asset.

  • Valid driver’s license

  • B-Pressure.

Skill Set:

  • Ability to fabricate and design

  • Use of air arc equipment

  • Gas cutting

  • Stick welding

  • Mig Welding

  • Able to read engineered blueprints.

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions

  • CWB or other certifications is an asset

 Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work under pressure

  • Must be comfortable working at heights

  • Must be comfortable working in confined spaces.

  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

  • Must be physically fit to perform required duties; successful candidates will have to pass a physical assessment.

  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends when necessary

  • 90% of work will be outside.
