ABOUT THE ROLE
Wells Construction, a Division of Lafarge Canada Inc., is seeking a Seasonal Tack Truck Driver to join our team. The Tack Truck Driver will be responsible for operating and maintaining a tack truck, transporting asphalt and other materials to various job sites. The driver will also ensure the safe delivery of materials, maintain equipment, and assist with various labor duties on the job site as needed.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Operate and maintain a tack truck, ensuring it is in good working condition.

  • Transport asphalt and other materials to construction sites as needed.

  • Assist with site preparation and clean-up.

  • Monitor and ensure the safe and accurate delivery of materials.

  • Conduct pre and post-trip inspections of the truck and equipment.

  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs on the truck.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required Work Experience: Experience driving a tack truck or similar equipment is considered an asset.
Required Training/Certifications: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
Required Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance, ability to perform minor truck repairs.
Travel Requirements: Local travel to construction sites around Edmonton, AB.
Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting and handling materials.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.

  • Experience in construction or related industries is an asset.

  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
