Position Summary
Aggregates is an exciting industry where students have the opportunity to experience the innovative and challenging world of mining while still being situated in an urban environment. As a Labourer – Summer Student, you are responsible for supporting the operations of the plants in the pits and quarries of the area. This will involve working outside rain or shine, clean up around the plants using a shovel, lifting up to 50 lbs. Landscaping and housekeeping projects for the sites as needed ie. Weed trimming, grass cutting, painting, picking up garbage. 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Relationships with Others Functions:

  • Reports to the Plant Manager, Lead Hand
  • Works closely with Plant staff, regional Operations team

 

 

Qualification Profile

 

Education/Work Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a College or University program

 

Knowledge &Skills:

  • Good written and verbal communications
  • Demonstrated time management and teamwork skills
  • Possess full driver’s license 
  • Bilingual in English and French required
  • Equipment Operation experience an asset
  • Construction industry experience an asset
