Sales Performance Analyst

Objective:
This individual is responsible within the ECAN Cement Sales Team to drive commercial performance through planning, reporting and tracking by taking full advantage of, and developing improved sales metrics, tools and reports. This role will increase efficiency and effectiveness in sales operations and processes to make our team more impactful, while helping to drive revenue and margin growth. The position will also continue to develop tools and modern data management structures, including automatic data flow and the design of business relevant dashboards in QlikView, google Sheets and other systems. In addition, the incumbent will support the month-end processes, coordinate the budgeting/forecasting process and assist the District Sales Managers generally to ensure the team excels in commercial performance.
Responsibilities:

Visit field locations to maintain periodic contact with salesforce, operations and customers.
- Market Intelligence: Estimates product demand in certain markets and micro/sub-markets, gains strong feeling for the domestic cement market and estimates market growth while identifying trends based on key indicators/drivers. Maintains market intelligence (competitor, customer, Lafarge/internal) and implements effective processes to keep them current and accurate (CID database).
- Performance: Contributes to the establishment of a customer-focused, solutions-oriented culture throughout the ECAN organization. Work with the cement team Directors (Sales, Technical, Supply Chain) to identify market opportunities, needs and suggest appropriate responses. Tracks performance of the sales team objectives and initiatives. Monitors results and proposes corrective action if needed. Thoroughly evaluates the performances of the sales team activities. Other duties as assigned.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Coordinates the budget and forecast process for the sales team. Leads and assists the preparation of the annual sales budget and regular forecast process, including volume and price validation. Supports the District Sales Managers and VP in driving pricing structure consistency across ECAN including the annual general price increase process, walk away pricing, and margin estimates.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Provides timely and accurate reporting and analysis on cement market and sales performances within ECAN. Synthesizes data to provide clear insight on trends and results generating conclusions and recommendations for improvement. Collaborates closely and acts as back-up to other specialists and analysts within the cement team. Acts to support the sales team on training of commercial tools and their use (eg. Qlikview, BW). Leads the preparation of regular and ad hoc reporting, including but not limited to:
- Month End Reporting: Commercial-related management and finance reports
- Contract profitability & sensitivity analysis, business valuation, profitability reports, etc.
- Designing reports, dashboards and interactive analysis tools to provide transparency and insight
- Ad hoc question answering from internal cement team members and functional groups.
- Data Tools & Integrity: Manages reporting and analytics related endeavors for ECAN cement division. This includes the development of clean data source(s) with automatic flow of data between business relevant tools and systems through collaboration with other ECAN, North American and Global teams. This includes maintaining up to date knowledge of analytics solutions and suggesting routes for system development to best practices.
Relationship with Others:
- Reports to the District Sales Manager (Quebec & Atlantic)
- Intensive coordination with District Sales Managers (Ontario) and their Sales Teams,
- Regular coordination with Director, Supply Chain & Cement Logistics & Technical Services Director and their teams.
- Close contact with ECAN Finance

Qualification Profile
- University degree in Finance, Business, Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent preferred;
- 1 – 3 years’ experience in Sales/ Marketing, analytics or related field
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and Word, and the google suite
- SAP, Salesforce and any other customer order process system experience.
- Experience in data mining / data management considered an asset.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry considered an asset.
- Excellent French and English communication skills.
