Operations Coordinator - New Grad position

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Operations Coordinator New Graduate will provide assistance to the Plant Manager through field work, learning, development and growth. The operations coordinator will participate in safety, coordination and planning of the ongoing activities at various GVA plant operations to achieve business targets. Recent graduates from post-secondary institutions will be considered.
This opportunity is part of Lafarge’s New Graduate Development Path (NGDP). As part of the NGDP two-year journey, new graduates are provided with opportunities to connect with other new grads, gain exposure to various aspects of the Lafarge business, and embark on their own learning and development journey through e-learning and scheduled monthly Learning & Development sessions. The NGDP provides a head start for recently graduated individuals entering the workforce while fostering a strong sense of community within Lafarge.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Safety Culture: Participate in helping drive the site towards a zero-injury work environment. Liaison with employees to complete risk assessments, workplace inspections, and assist in the use of workplace procedures and practices.
- Quality Control: Participate in the quality control process and ensure the production of in spec material is achieved on a daily basis.
- Production Management: Assist the site manager in rolling out production plans, metrics and goals for production.
- Community Relations: Assist the plant manager in ensuring that site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines. Support effective relationships within the community by participating in local activities/events.
- Learning & Development: participate in designated learning and development streams to enhance business knowledge.
- Maintenance Management: Participate in the maintenance management module through data inputs and reporting.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Recently obtained University Degree or College Diploma
Additional Education Preferred: N/A.
Field of Study Preferred: Civil Engineering, Business, or related field.
Required Work Experience: Up to 2 years of industry experience.
Required Training/Certifications: Construction Safety Officer (CSO)
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and Power BI is an asset.
Travel Requirements: 0-10%

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
