ABOUT THE ROLE
The Technical Services Representative supports Lafarge product sales and profitability within a defined geographical area by offering cement customers technical support. The Technical Services Representative also provides expert technical advice internally (e.g., sales team) and externally through local and provincial associations. He/She plays a key role in supporting promotion of Lafarge products and solutions and also strongly contributes to innovation activities within his geography.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Supports and promotes Lafarge cementitious products to existing customers.
- Provides technical services to enhance Lafarge cementitious customers’ operations and experience.
- Resolves customer product issues and technical concerns.
- Responds to customers’ requests for technical information and samples.
- Participates in long-term product development and performance improvement initiatives.
- Trains and educates customers and the sales team.
- Initiates and supports the sales force in the development of new customer relationships and new segment offerings through technical and promotional expertise.
- Actively participates in the generation of innovative ideas and projects, and drives product development and new segment offering efforts.
- Promotes new uses for existing products and assists with program development for successful market penetrations.
- Assists sales team with quantifying the value of Lafarge’s cementitious offering to a variety of segments/channels.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Engineering degree (Civil preferred) or equivalent combination of college degree and industry experience (civil preferred) considered.
- Additional Education Preferred: N/A.
- Field of Study Preferred: Civil Engineering.
- Required Work Experience: Five years in the cement/concrete industry.
- Required Training/Certifications: ACI Concrete Field Testing – Grade 1, Bilingual (French and English)
- Required Technical Skills: Strong Customer Focus, Familiarity with basic statistical analysis and mastery of MS Office.
- Knowledge and experience in cement, concrete and aggregates is preferred.
- Travel Requirements: 40%
