ABOUT THE ROLE
The Controller provides the Finance Director, VPGM, General Manager, Operations Managers and staff with full and appropriate financial management information and strategic support including budgeting, forecasting, capital requests. Also provides effective management of the finance, administration, credit and computer departments in accordance with company policies, USGAAP, Internal Controls under Sarbanes Oxley, tax laws, etc.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Provides financial support for Finance Director, Performance, Senior VP, General Manager, and various Operations Managers
- Contributes to attainment of EBIT, CFFO and ROIC. Provide financial management support for senior management.
- Develop and maintain proper internal controls in accordance with the Group MCS. Develop and maintain proper controls in accordance with US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley. Maintains proper financial and accounting controls.
- Analysis of financial results. Interprets events and activities from a financial perspective. (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Develops and maintains a customer focused finance department. Provide informative, timely, and reliable financial information for local senior management and regional corporate office.
- Co-ordinate internal audit. Ensure all Minimum Control Standards (Internal control) systems are adhered to
- Consolidates budgets and forecasts and target exercises. Works closely with the General Manager on annual target exercises.
- Effective management of human resources and staff development. Manages Accounting, Credit, Information Systems and Administration personnel.
- Participates in the development of the strategic direction of divisional goals. Assists the General Manager with divisional strategy issues.
- Continuous improvement of operating efficiencies. Contributes to maximize asset utilization.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: University Degree
Additional Education Preferred: N/A
Field of Study Preferred: Accounting, Finance, Business
Required Work Experience: 5+ years of senior financial management experience with increasing responsibility
Required Training/Certifications: Professional Accounting Designation (CMA, CGA, CA) or equivalent education and experience and continuing professional education
Required Technical Skills: Knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley a benefit

- Experience in a multi-business, multi-divisional environment.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Advanced people management skills.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
