Objective & Overview
- The Operations Analyst participates in the development, leadership and management of the operational functions and performance for the market area
- The analyst works closely with the operations team to ensure the highest levels of environmental and safety compliance, leveraging production excellence to create superior products & services.
- Performs production engineer duties: monitor inventories, enter daily production and perform inventory reconciliation in SAP
- Ensures Lafarge is viewed as a valued member of the industry and local communities in which it operates.
Responsibilities
- Safety Culture: The Operations Analyst promotes safety culture through learning with our employees, safety committees and subcontractors. Through this learning they will assist in the implementation and management of local and regional initiatives with an objective of “zero harm”. He or she will also develop, administer and promote safety processes that are chosen to be rolled out using new digital tools.
- Production Management: The Operations Analyst develops and implements processes, strategies and tools to plan and track budgets, forecasts, maintenance, production and shipping performance to achieve targeted Operational Performance Indicators (OPIs). He or she must promote and support daily, weekly and monthly communication process to drive group efficiencies and manage production performance. By working with the Operations team, they will analyze capital needs and requests. In addition, analytical and technical skills will be used to improve inventory and production forecasting and management.
- Financial Management: They must track financial performance using local/regional tools and support financial analysis to identify cost reduction opportunities. The Operations Analyst will track production forecast to balance inventories and sales needs to manage working capital impact.
- Customer Focus: The Operations Analyst will provide support for monthly inventory reconciliation to ensure adequate inventory levels to meet demand and support the shipping and quality department to drive loading and product performance. Ensures materials are correctly coded and set up through SAP.
- Environmental Management: The Operations Analyst works with the Environmental Department to develop and implement any operational standards to manage activities and mitigate our environmental impact. They must also assist in ensuring sites meet or exceed all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines. They act as the lead for of our local water taking records and communication with consulting companies.
- Community Relations: The Operations Analyst develops and maintains effective relationships within the community by participating in local activities, events and committees through partnerships within the industry, local associations and the business community. The incumbent assists to ensure that a plant image guideline exists to promote a professional image in a standard and consistent manner across ECAN and is well implemented / enforced.
Relationship with Others
- Works closely with the Operations Manager and Plant Managers
- Works closely with the ECAN Manufacturing staff to ensure manufacturing best practices and tools are fully utilized across the market area.
- Work with the Safety representatives to develop and maintain a culture of safety
- Works closely with area Finance to ensure costs are budgeted, forecasted and accurate
- Works closely with the Supply Chain and Distribution Staff to ensure efficient management of production costs & inventories.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Annual safety contribution and participation in leading indicators
- Digital transformation of safety, maintenance, and production tools
- Daily/Weekly operations production tracking
- Monthly financial and operational performance reviews, inventory entries
- Site supervision of front line staff as required

- 6M Tonnes of aggregate production
- Eastern Ontario market area
Qualification Profile
Education & Work Experience:
- An undergraduate degree in business, marketing, or engineering preferred
- A strong background in digital tools, data management, or computer programming
- Construction, mechanical or mining experience an asset
