Overview

Lafarge Prince George, a division of Lafarge Canada Inc., operating in Prince George is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Grader Foreperson to join our team. As the Grader Foreperson, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the prep crew, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained, and adhering to safety standards. You will play a key role in ensuring that our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the prep crew to ensure that all projects are completed efficiently and to the required specifications.

  • Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained, serviced, and repaired as necessary.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure that all crew members are following safety guidelines and procedures.

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and other relevant information.

  • Communicate effectively with other members of the team, including project managers, supervisors, and crew members.

  • Assist in the training and development of new crew members as needed.

  • Ensure that all work areas are kept clean and organized.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with additional technical or vocational training preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role in the paving and aggregates industry.

  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with crew members, project managers, and other stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and other technical documents.

  • Proficient in the use of relevant tools and equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, and graders.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
