Holcim is planning to spin-off its North American Business to unleash its full potential, capitalizing on North America’s oversized growth in construction led by the modernization of infrastructure, a surge in advanced manufacturing and AI operation and the growth of resilient cities.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for the profit and loss contribution of the Greater Montreal Ready Mix Market while upholding all company commitments, and executing a culture that holds health & safety as a core value.  Ultimately, the incumbent is to execute business strategy, operational and commercial business plans, and provide leadership to all organizational resources within the designated market area.  Areas of responsibility include safety, sales, marketing, efficient operations/production.  The incumbent proactively engages the support of the functional leaders and others to secure the long-term growth vision for the market area.  They also ensure that all products and services that touch the customer meet Lafarge ECAN standards, support our sustainability targets and are delivered and produced in the most cost effective manner.  The successful candidate will work on fostering employee engagement through communication of Vision, Purpose and our core values of Passion, Collaboration and Grit.  Supports the development of innovations and digital solutions.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Health & Safety Leadership : Champions a proactive safety culture through Critical Control Management and personal engagement in safety audits and corrective actions.   
  • Employee Engagement : Drives safe work practices and documentation through all staff levels via the HSEIP plan.   
  • Wellness Awareness : Recognizes and promotes the importance of employee wellness in overall safety and performance.   
  • Team Leadership : Provides coaching and development to foster growth, innovation, and collaboration within and across teams.   
  • Strategic Alignment : Ensures teams have clear vision and strategy aligned with company goals, using tools like Salesforce, Qlik, etc.   
  • Performance Management : Tracks team progress, addresses underperformance, and leads talent management efforts including hiring and termination.   
  • Operational Oversight : Directs concrete production and applies best practices to optimize plant operations and costs.   
  • Union & Labour Relations : Works with LR teams on union negotiations and fosters positive labor relations.   
  • Sales Strategy : Oversees consistent and accountable sales processes, ensuring compliance with Price Margin Management protocols.   
  • Customer Focus : Manages key accounts, drives customer satisfaction, and ensures accurate sales tracking and forecasting.   
  • Specialty Sales : Supports growth of the Volumetric Business and brand presence in Québec, emphasizing unique product offerings.   
  • Quality Management : Oversees quality control, legal aspects of incidents, and raw material sourcing to balance cost and quality.   
  • Market Intelligence : Gathers and communicates competitive insights to inform budgeting and strategic decisions.   
  • Financial Strategy : Runs and forecasts financial performance across two brands, improving margins through strategic operations.   
  • Innovation Culture : Promotes innovation within the team, especially with specialty and sustainable products like ECOPact.   
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours. 

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering preferred
  • Additional Education Preferred: Field of Study Preferred: Business or Engineering
  • Required Work Experience: minimum 10 years of RMX experience
  • Required Training/Certifications:
  • Required Technical Skills: Microsoft office, SAP
  • Travel Requirements: 25%

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
