ABOUT THE ROLE
The Quality Control Coordinator role is to perform and coordinate the quality control/assurance functions in the Pipe plant including all processes required to plan and execute our work as well as to oversee/audit the quality of manufactured pipe products. The incumbent is responsible for all activities relating to development and maintenance of our pipe quality assurance program.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Foster strong customer relationships and networks, providing seamless and quality service while continuously improving operational efficiency and streamlining work processes.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales during project planning (estimating) by offering specialized technical input and support.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge and expertise in concrete technology and the quality control department.
- Ensure product quality by managing daily tasks, overseeing specific quality plans, scheduling regular equipment and material testing, and carrying out necessary tests and checks.
- Maintain and update the CSA/CPCI/CPCQA Quality Manual System, conduct audits, and ensure adherence to the Quality Assurance program, established policies, and regulations.
- Oversee and maintain testing capabilities (personnel and equipment), review technical specifications and standards, and validate compliance certificates and test reports.
- Analyze product test data, write evaluation reports, and provide troubleshooting for projects.
- Participate in new product development initiatives, write R&D plans and procedures, and monitor associated costs.
- Contribute to financial efficiency by ensuring product cost structures are within tolerances, aiding in raw material ordering and inventory, and reviewing production-related invoices.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: College Diploma / University Degree
Field of Study Preferred: Engineering Technology / Engineering
Required Work Experience: at least 5 years of experience in construction industry, preferably in concrete industry
Required Training/Certifications: Registered EIT/CET
Additional Requirements:
● Must be able to pass Precast Concrete Drainage Product Quality Technician Examination within 1-year time.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Good organization and planning skills.
● Strong team player with a positive attitude.
● Good working knowledge of cementitious materials as well as concrete properties/characteristics
● Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
