Job Purpose
|
- Lead and manage all Ready-Mix operations across the East Area by ensuring operational excellence, safety, cost optimization, people development, asset reliability, and customer service delivery.
- The Area Manager is responsible for driving performance across multiple batch plants through effective leadership of Batch Plant Managers while ensuring alignment with company objectives, budget targets, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
|
1-Health & Safety:
- Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation and policies and ensure that highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained.
- Ensure full compliance with Lafarge safety standards and promote safety culture and safe practices among the entire work
- force.
- Ensure all BP employees are operating in a safe working environment.
- Provide monthly reporting and statistics regarding safety performance and incidents.
- Ensure that all employees and contractors following Health Safety Rules.
- Conduct VPC and direct other key members in the company to do the same.
- Identify people with potential to assume broader safety responsibility.
- Submit the safety figures on monthly basis to the company and discuss areas of improvement.
- Lead investigations in major safety incidents.
- Review investigation reports on safety violation incidents and decide on additional actions to be taken.
- Assume key responsibility for developing H&S improvement plan and relevant action plans.
- Follow HSIP of the plant and follow the progress.
- Stopping Unsafe act.
- Ensure that all employees trained.
- Attending all safety Meeting
- Ensure that all employees follow SWI.
- Achieve Annual Health and safety personal objective.
2- Functional:
1. Operational Excellence
- Lead and oversee the performance of all Ready-Mix plants within the East Area.
- Ensure maximum plant utilization, productivity, and operational efficiency while minimizing downtime.
- Monitor production, maintenance, quality, and fleet KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
- Coordinate plant startups, relocations, major refurbishments, and capacity expansion projects.
- Review and challenge operational performance with Batch Plant Managers through regular performance reviews.
2. Financial & Budget Management
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget for the East Area.
- Monitor plant operating costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Review monthly financial performance against budget and forecast.
- Support preparation and justification of CAPEX projects.
- Ensure proper utilization of resources and control of maintenance, fleet, and operational expenditures.
3. Asset Reliability & Maintenance
- Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance programs are effectively executed along with the BP Maintenance team.
- Support major maintenance activities, plant refurbishments, and operations.
- Drive reliability improvement initiatives to extend asset life and reduce breakdowns.
4. People Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, coach, and develop Batch Plant Managers and their teams.
- Establish clear objectives and performance expectations.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and succession planning discussions.
- Identify high-potential talent and support development opportunities.
- Ensure manpower planning aligns with business requirements and productivity targets.
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
5. Supply Chain & Store Management
- Oversee inventory management and ensure optimum stock levels across the area.
- Monitor critical spare parts availability to support uninterrupted operations.
- Review inventory trends, consumption patterns, and stock accuracy.
- Support supplier qualification and technical evaluations when required.
- Ensure compliance with store management standards and audit requirements.
6. Fleet & Driver Performance
- Monitor fleet utilization, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Review driver performance, safety indicators, and compliance requirements.
- Support driver training, assessment, and development programs.
- Ensure adherence to road safety standards and local traffic regulations.
7. Stakeholder & Customer Management
- Collaborate with Commercial, Supply Chain, Quality, and HSE teams to achieve business objectives.
- Support customer satisfaction through reliable service delivery and operational responsiveness.
- Represent the company with local authorities, municipalities, and regulatory bodies when required.
- Support business growth initiatives, new plant approvals, and operational expansion projects.

Education
Qualifications & Experience
|
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Operations Management is considered an advantage.
- Professional certifications in Project Management or Health & Safety are preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Ready-Mix Concrete operations, batching plants, fleet management, and BP maintenance practices.
- Proven experience managing multiple production sites and operational teams.
- Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance systems
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, CAPEX planning, and business performance analysis.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), and Quality Management Systems
- Experience in project management, plant setup, relocation, refurbishment, and commissioning.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, spare parts planning, and store operations.
- Knowledge of transportation and fleet optimization principles.
- Ability to analyze operational KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with sustainability, environmental compliance, and operational excellence programs.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
Experience:
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Ready Mix, Cement, Construction Materials, Manufacturing, or Heavy Industrial Operations.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role managing multiple sites, plants, or operational units.
- Demonstrated track record in operational excellence, people leadership, cost optimization, and safety performance.
