Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Job Purpose

 

  • Contribute to the overall performance improvement of the plant through implementing and developing Lafarge maintenance processes and mind-set.
  • Organize and manage the department’s human, financial and material resources to optimise the quality of its services and its technical and economic performance, ensure optimum equipment availability and performance in the short, medium and long term, at minimum cost.

Key Responsibilities

 

1-Health & Safety:

Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation and policies and ensure that highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained

 

2-Functional 

  • Lead and coordinate maintenance activities across all RMX batch plants to ensure operational continuity.
  • Own and control all SAP work orders related to spare parts and maintenance services for RMX batch plants.
  • Drive spare parts cost control through data analysis, trend monitoring, and optimization initiatives.
  • Monitor diesel consumption across batch plants and implement efficiency and cost-saving actions.
  • Validate, process, and post all service invoices on SAP, including accurate MD code assignment.
  • Cresate, update, and govern spare parts master data, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage spare parts code modifications and transfers across countries and batch plant sites.
  • Monitor, review, and finalize “No-Go” items for all batch plants in line with maintenance standards.
  • Manage and reconcile deduction lists from outsourced service providers in coordination with the Mobile Equipment Manager.

Collaborate with the MRP focal point to analyze spare parts consumption and optimize overall maintenance spend.

 

 

Education,

Qualifications & Experience

   

 Education:

  • BSC in Engineering with a specific focus on mechanical.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Working with Mercedes Xentry diagnostic software
  • Experience with truck mixers, concrete pumps, wheel loaders and generators.
  • Proven skills in managing people
  • In depth knowledge of maintenance activities (Mechanical, Electrical, Methods)
  • Strong preventive and predictive maintenance program experience
  • Excellent organization, planning, problem solving, goal setting, performance measurement and follow-through skills
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft office.

 

Experience:

  • 4 + years of progressive managerial experience with emphasis on maintenance
