Prescriptive Selling & Product Development Manager 

Job Purpose

The Prescriptive Selling & Product Development Manager is responsible for promoting Lafarge’s product portfolio and sustainability solutions through impactful presentations and tailored business cases to consultants, government institutions, and key industry stakeholders. The role plays a pivotal part in shaping project specifications for mega projects, infrastructure works, oil well cement, and mining developments. By collaborating closely with internal stakeholders particularly quality and technical teams the role ensures Lafarge solutions are embedded at early design stages and positioned as the preferred choice for long-term value creation. The role also contributes to product development discussions by providing market intelligence and customer insights, helping to ensure future solutions are aligned with evolving client needs and industry trends.

Key Responsibilities

 

1-Health & Safety:

Adhere to enforce relevant legislation and policies, and ensure that highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained.

 

2-Functional:

 

Value-Based & Prescriptive Selling Leadership

  • Lead the implementation of prescriptive and value-based pricing and selling methodologies.
  • Drive a cultural shift toward value selling across commercial teams.
  • Quantify and communicate the total value proposition of Lafarge products and solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

  • Map, prioritize, and influence consultants, architects, developers, and contractors.
  • Build senior-level trusted-advisor relationships at design and decision-making stages.
  • Position Lafarge specifications in project designs to secure pull-through demand.

Industry Leadership

  • Represent Lafarge in industry seminars, technical committees, and forums.
  • Support advocacy and lobbying related to sustainable construction.
  • Position the company as an innovative market leader.

Customer & Tender Engagement

  • Drive early engagement during pre-tender and tender phases of major projects.
  • Promote ECOPlanet and other sustainable offerings to secure preferred-partner status.
  • Ensure strong Lafarge presence in mega and infrastructure projects.

Product Development & Innovation

  • Identify unmet customer needs and market gaps through field interaction.
  • Work with R&D, marketing, and operations teams to develop new products and specifications.
  • Support launch of innovative solutions, particularly sustainable and high-performance products.
  • Monitor product performance and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Ready-Mix (RMX), Sales, and technical teams to tailor project solutions.
  • Challenge and align plant and operations teams behind prescriptive selling strategies.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality technical and commercial solutions.

Segment Development

  • Drive the strategy and execution for the Oil & Mining segment.
  • Design and implement fit-for-purpose solutions that align with overall business goals.
  • Deliver actionable segment-specific insights to enhance market positioning and competitiveness.

Quality Advisory

  • Serve as a technical and quality advisor across all segments.
  • Ensure adherence to product performance standards.
  • Support customers with technical guidance and solution optimization.

Education, Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. (Civil – Chemical – Petroleum)

 

Experience:

 

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, consultative/solution selling, or construction materials.
  • Strong knowledge of value-based/prescriptive selling techniques.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence key industry stakeholders.
  • Experience with mega/infrastructure projects and sector-specific solutions (Oil & Mining preferred).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic mindset with strong problem solving and influencing abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and challenge operational practices constructively.
