Country Senior Tax Specialist 

Job Purpose

 

  • The Country Tax Senior Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end preparation and submission of tax returns and supporting documentation for inspections.
  • This role ensures all tax-related figures are reliable, timely, and compliant with local laws, regulations, and group accounting standards.
  • Additionally, the specialist maintains internal control documentation and provides tax advice to support financial and investment decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1-Health & Safety:

  • Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation and policies and ensure that highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained.
  • As a member of the Finance Team, contributes to the overall H&S performance of the country
  • Ensures that the Finance Departments under responsibility comply with the country’s Health and safety and environmental Policy, in such a manner that no fatalities occur and that a culture of zero tolerance to lost time accidents is achieved.

2-Functional:

 

Tax Compliance:

  • Preparation of indirect and direct tax returns to ensure reliability, completeness and timely submission of tax return in line with local laws and Tax Authority Requirements
  • Preparation of all clarification and analytical reports required for tax inspection to ensure reliable and timely information in line with Tax Authority specifications
  • Liaising with tax inspectors to ensure timely and accurate tax inspection process in line with local laws
  • Liaising with the Tax Authority in tax laws updates and tax appeals to ensure timely information for decision-making.
  • Assist the tax-lead in handling all tax clarifications required by tax advisors to ensure reliable and timely tax return in line with local laws

Tax Planning & Advice:

  • Support in the evaluation and selection of alternative actions to optimize tax burden in line with local laws in order to ensure accurate tax payments
  • Assist the head of tax in the preparation of tax advices with reference to local tax laws and liaise with Tax Advisor to satisfy external tax advices required
  • Communication of any updates in new tax laws and tax rates to ensure timely and accurate information

Group and External Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of tax reports required by the Group Tax reporting team to ensure timely and reliable tax reporting figures in line with group deadlines and accounting standards, and local tax laws.
  • Assist the Tax lead in the preparation of the tax reports and clarifications required by external auditors to ensure reliable figures are compatible with local regulations

Internal Control:

  • Maintaining internal controls documentation and evidences pursuant to group internal control requirements.
  • Prepare the testing requirements that will be required by the internal control department
  • Approve the vendors' onboarding on the Massimo tool.

Capex Management

  • Assist the Head of Tax in analyzing the CAPEX tax implications

 

External Audit

  • Responsible for all external audit requirements.
  • Assist the Head of Tax in preparing an annual tax status report for the issuance of the statutory financial statements

Follow up on the tax returns filing and payment processes.

 

Education

 

 

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

     Education:

  • Bachelor of Accounting or Commerce.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Fluent English.
  • Excellent MS Office, especially Word & Excel.
  •  SAP ERP knowledge is an advantage.

 

    Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the same field.
