Safety Lead - Readymix

Job Purpose

  • To manage & control the safety aspects of RMX plant in order to achieve a safe and compliant working place in line of the company’s strategy & objectives in which safety is the company’s 1st priority.

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Coordinate the safety policies and procedures across the businesses to ensure compliance with Lafarge Safety Policy.
  2. Oversee compliance of safety legislation to achieve no legal & financial implications according to the Egyptian labor and environment law.
  3. Provide guidance, support and advice to the various management teams and, in particular, work alongside the Operations Director/ Works Directors to ensure achievement of the highest standards of Safety performance.
  4. Monitor Safety performance through audit and accident/incident reporting, investigation and analysis to achieve company’s Safety objectives.
  5. Liaise with external government authorities as appropriate to ensure that our Safety systems are in compliance with the Egyptian laws.
  6. Arrange for Plant Safety committee & Safety steering committee meetings to ensure attendance of company representatives and that safety issues (major decisions that are agreed upon) are cascaded to all levels.
  7. Issue specified training plans in accordance to employee’s job title to increase awareness among all employee levels and to further endorse a safety culture.
  8. Ensure that PPE is available at all times and distributed to all employees according to the nature of their work to prevent risk that workers may be exposed to during work.
  9. Applying coaching & counseling skills to develop 2nd line management.
  10. Monitor Safety performance indicators to achieve company goals and objectives.
  11. Prepare and ensure execution of annual safety budget in accordance to the foreseeable company safety targets.

 

 

Education

 

 

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

    

      Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering or Science.
  • OSHA Certification is a Plus.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Strong Knowledge of Safety Standards & Procedures.
  • Minor Financial Background is a Plus.

 

    Experience:

  • 3-5 years of Experience in the Safety Field in a Heavy Industry is a must.
  • 1-2 years in a managerial position.
