Specification & Product Development Engineer (Readymix)

Job Purpose

 

  • Early engage with project design teams & technical stakeholders to endorse & specify Lafarge’s wide range of VAPS portfolio and grow its market share. Develop & manage new product introductions with respect to market needs and customer pain-points.

Key Responsibilities

 

1-Health & Safety:

Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation and policies and ensure that highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained

2-Functional:

  • Lead the prescriptive selling of the Value-Added Products portfolio among key project specifiers including (developers, consultants, architects, and governmental authorities) to expand market reach and strengthen product positioning. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with design communities and technical stakeholders to increase product adoption across targeted projects and sectors. 
  • Drive lead generation activities in close coordination with the Value-Added Products team to identify new business opportunities supporting sales growth. 
  • Develop and maintain professional technical and commercial illustrations, including Product presentations & Technical data sheets
  • Conduct value engineering exercises by preparing detailed product comparisons and quantifying value propositions to support customer decision-making and project specifications. 
  • Collect and analyze market intelligence related to competitors, market positioning & customer needs, while closely monitoring competitor activities and recommending proactive countermeasures and strategic responses to maintain competitiveness. 
  • Support new product development initiatives through testing, validation, and coordination with the Quality Department and the Value Added Products team. 
  • Plan and execute new product launch activities, driving targeted engagement with design communities, technical stakeholders, and key customers through strategic market activities. 
  • Provide direct and indirect technical support to the Value-Added Products sales team across all geographies and project types.

 

Education

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Civil/Construction Engineering.

 

Technical Skills:

  • High Technical & Presentation Skills.
  • High ability to influence technical bodies.

 

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in Construction market; preferably in Specifications and/or technical market.
  • Wide knowledge of building materials & construction systems.
