Job Purpose

The role is Maintenance Lead for Geocycle Egypt. The scope of this position covers maintenance of all equipment, control systems, and instrumentation equipment, also managing the operation of AGROSERVE, in Geocycle .

Key Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Health & Safety:

  • Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation and policies and ensure that highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained.

  • Exercise Visible, Felt Leadership (VFL) in the field on a daily basis.

  • Apply the Contractor Safety Management standard to all contracted work and ensure all contractor employees are supervised with regards to Lafarge practices and regulations.

  • Promote safety and safe work practices in the workplace with all site employees and contractors

  • Participate in development and implementation of health & safety rules and procedures

  • Ensure adequate supply of OH&S equipment and supplies, availability of safety and emergency procedures, and proper working environment and conditions


  • Functional:


Maintenance Management:

  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of waste management facilities and related assets

  • Lead, coordinate, and supervise maintenance teams, ensuring timely execution of maintenance activities and adherence to operational standards.

  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities, identify potential issues, and plan corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize asset performance.

  • Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring effective cost control, resource allocation, and optimization of maintenance expenses.

  • Establish and drive preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability, reduce breakdowns, and extend asset lifespan.

  • Build and develop high-performing maintenance and operational teams while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

  • Review, optimize, and standardize maintenance processes, schedules, Standard Operating Procedures, and best practices to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Lead the development and implementation of predictive and preventive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability and ensuring its organization and analysis using traditional & technical advanced diagnostic tools.

  • Evaluate equipment and process risks, identify root causes of failures, and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions based on technical analysis and risk management principles.

  • Manage & provide technical support and expertise for maintenance, mobile equipment, and operations contractors.

  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend appropriate products and technical solutions to address complex operational and maintenance challenges. 

  • Oversee maintenance and operational activities across four remote sites and mobile shredding units, while supporting business expansion and growth initiatives. 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation and spare parts inventory maintaining equipment records & maintenance history up to date.

  • Manage the Inventory Module and Geocycle warehouse operations, ensuring accurate workflow transactions and inventory control. 

  • Oversee and control all raw material and spare parts transactions, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance with company procedures. 

  • Support the planning, design, and successful execution of capital investment projects.

  • Participate in the identification, development, and implementation of equipment and process improvements to enhance health, safety, operational efficiency, and equipment reliability.

  • Drive spare parts localization initiatives, achieving an 80% localization rate to improve availability.

  • Manage and coordinate contractor activities, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.


Project Management:


  • Lead and manage various projects related to facility expansion, technology upgrades, and process improvements.

  • Define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables.

  • Create project plans, allocate resources, and monitor project timelines.

  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and environmental standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

  • Accountable for project time management, quality of deliverables and with the assigned budget (Project cost control) 

  • Responsible for project contractors’ management. 

Education, Qualifications & Experience


Education:  A relevant professional qualification engineering (preferably mechanical)


Experience: 

Proven Operational & leadership experience, preferably in a waste management facility

Good experience in workplace safety

10 years of experience in an Industrial setup with Cement Background.
