Job Purpose:

Design, deliver, and coordinate all HSE competency and Training Plan for the Project workforce. Manages the 100% personnel access authorization process and ensures the transition from traditional Toolbox Talks to Location Specific Talks (LSTs)

Key Accountabilities: 

  1. Health & Safety:

  • Promote a culture of safety leadership by engaging all levels of the workforce in proactive safety behaviors. 

  1. Functional:

  • Inductions: Deliver the Holcim Comprehensive HSE Induction to 100% of workers and visitors.

  • Deliver HSE Training Plan, task-specific training,

  • Competency Badging: Oversee the visual ID badge system reflecting worker competency, medical fitness, and authorization levels.

  • Field Training: Monitor and coach supervisors on delivering highly relevant Location Specific Talks (LSTs).

  • Refresher Programs: Execute monthly refresher training for all frontline workers and supervisor

Communication & Work Relationships:

  • Internal: Collaborate with Project Construction Safety Manager, HR, and Supervisors.

  • External: Engage with contractors to ensure training alignment.

Major Decisions/Authorities & Responsibilities:

  • Safety Training & Culture Development: Determines HSE training needs and approves programs to enhance workforce competency.

  • Contractor & Workforce Compliance: Ensures adherence to H&S training policies before and during project execution.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Education: Engineering degree or highly specialized technical diploma.

  • Certifications: Train the Trainer (TOT), OSHA/NEBOSH fundamentals.

  • Technical Skills: Strong presentation skills, knowledge of adult learning principles and behavioral-based safety (BBS).

  • Experience: 5+ years delivering HSE training for mega-construction or heavy industrial projects.
