Instrumentation Maintenance Team Lead

Job Purpose

 

  • Ensure completion of Instrumentation function jobs for Production Lines 1,2 with the highest level of safety, quality and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximise equipment availability
  • Apply preventive and predictive maintenance practices, and contribute to their improvement.

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Health & Safety:
  • Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation and policies and ensure that highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained.
  • Implement Lafarge Safety Standards and Integrate safety into all maintenance operations by owned employees and contractors and ensure safely working conditions by regular inspections and VPC.
  • Strict implementation for discipline policy when needed and set corrective actions to close gaps.
  • Ensure safely operation for plant instrumentation equipment and Control systems with high reliability and continuous audit to ensure high level of safety.
  • Continuous improvement for work place and people behaviour to meet company culture & rules.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of policies and safety procedures through leadership of Department employees – setting objectives, managing performance, recruiting, developing and motivating employees - in order to ensure the highest levels of performance are achieved.
  1. Functional:
  • Lead Instrumentation team in Kilns & Fuel areas for Production Lines 1,2 to ensure the highest possible efficiency and reliability.
  • Lead, Develop and implement instrumentation execution plans, policies and procedures with corporate Production strategy in order to ensure effective support for Smart operation, Process and production, the execution and quality of executing work to be carried out on equipment according to planned work orders to support the achievement of production objectives.
  • Define; validate team IDP with regular follow up with needed support to enhance skills and performance.
  • Execute the weekly & planned shutdown schedule for his area and necessary assignments of resources at team level with scheduler coordination, using best available tools and procedures in order to maximize equipment availability and support the control system configuration to optimize the operation process.
  • Ensures, upon completion of repairs for Instrumentation equipment , that are in good operating condition and as standard, ready to meet operational requirements, fully inspected, tested, clean and safe.
  • Takes adequate actions when incidents occur in his area (undertake emergency repairs or corrective actions).
  • Contributes in his area, to the development of working Execution and definition of procedures and ensures their implementation.
  • Report for repairing jobs including as consumption of materials, tools, man hours and skills, and support with dates the filling of equipment history files.
  • Regular tracking for equipment stoppages with implementation of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and take the appropriate measures to prevent the re occurring of failures due to Maintenance problems.
  • Lead upgrades projects / modifications with detailed evaluation report and recommendation.
  • Responsible for validation for all critical and process sensors calibration according to PMR & master plan.
  • Responsible for maintaining and ensure safe operation for all burning and feeding equipment according to standard.
  • Upgrading any required programming for plant equipment according to operation needs.

 

Education

 

 

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

     Education:

  • Bachelor of Electrical or communication Engineering.

 

Technical Skills: 

 

  • Strong technical knowledge in deep practical understanding of instrumentation and sensors (calibration, maintenance).
  • Understanding of ICS, SCADA, DCS, and PLCs in a process industry setting.
  • knowledge of in PLC programming of local libraries (Siemens, Rockwell, ABB, etc.)
  • Cybersecurity Knowledge, including understanding and familiarity with MCS 64.
  • Knowledge in industrial networking protocols (Profinet, Profibus, OPC, etc.)
  • Instrumentation execution operation, hydraulic, pneumatic, Control Loops and circuits control.
  • Maintaining and programming of gas analyzer devices and all types of critical sensors.
  • Knowledge in Weigh feeding systems operation and high technology devices like shell scanners and fuel dosing equipment.
  • Knowledge of cement industrial process.
  • knowledge of Local Safety rules and regulations, computer literacy of Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance operations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, contract documents, control& power drawings, service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations.

 

Experience:

  • 5 - 8 years of experience in Electrical power and maintenance equipment, preferably in cement industry.
