Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Job Purpose

Provide technical Supervision, execution and control in the CM area for maintenance activity to ensure the provision of cost effective, proactive maintenance and engineering services.

Health & Safety:

  1. Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation, as well as the Company's HSE Policies, Rules, and Standards.
  2. Ensure the highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained at all times.
  3. Follow all HSE Procedures, both Management and Operational.
  4. Commit to gain all HSE competencies and capabilities relevant to the job role, as outlined in the country HSE training matrix (mandatory for the position or required based on the individual's activities).

Functional:

  1. Identify, design and propose to management technical maintenance improvements and/or developments based on plant, equipment and/or process requirements, implementing approved plans as appropriate in order to support the continual technical improvement of maintenance provision.
  2. Carry out and/or supervise breakdown maintenance for critical and/or complex plant and equipment in order to ensure that plant and equipment downtime minimized.
  3. Conduct on the job training, demonstration and instruction for new and/or existing employees in order to support their professional development and ensure the highest standards of performance achieved across the team.
  4. Identify and recommend equipment / systems for procurement, provide technical specification, perform technical evaluation of equipment and suppliers and ensure effective commissioning and follow up where appropriate.
  5. Coordinate and communicate effectively with other departments on maintenance activities in order to ensure that maintenance provision meets the ongoing needs of production process.
  6. Prepare reports on the full range of engineering and maintenance issue in order to ensure senior management have sufficient information to support decision making.
  7. Provide technical advice and support to Technicians on non-routine plant, applying specialist skills and knowledge to ensure problems are resolved quickly and effectively.
  8. Participate in Quality Control Circle activity, evaluating, recommending and implementing improvement ideas as appropriate so that all relevant processes are continually improved.

 

Education,

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • BSC degree in Mechanical Engineering 

Technical Skills:

  • Cement Background, Planning, Preventive maintenance knowledge, Computer proficiency, problem-solving skills.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably in cement industry.
