Mechanical Maintenance Lead

Job Purpose

 

Lead and supervise the mechanical utilities maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of utility equipment including screw compressors and water pumps. The role aims to maximize equipment availability, minimize downtime, and support continuous production through proper

planning, execution, and team leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1- Health & Safety:

  • Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation, as well as the Company's HSE Policies, Rules, and Standards.
  • Ensure the highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained at all times.
  • Follow all HSE Procedures, both Management and Operational.
  • Commit to gain all HSE competencies and capabilities relevant to the job role, as outlined in the country HSE training matrix (mandatory for the position or required based on the individual's activities).

 

2- Functional:

 

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance for:

 

  1. Screw compressors (Atlas, Aerzen, etc.).
  2. Water pumps and related piping systems.

 

  • Diagnose mechanical faults and ensure timely repair to reduce downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and history in SAP.
  • Optimize spare parts usage and coordinate with planning and procurement teams.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, KPIs, and performance analysis using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of utility equipment.
  • Coordinate with production and other departments for maintenance planning.

 

Education, Qualifications & Experience

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

 

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of screw compressors (Atlas Copco, Aerzen, or similar).
  • Water pumps maintenance, seals, bearings, and alignment.
  • SAP knowledge.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • 5–7 years of experience in heavy industry or relevant industrial environment (preferred in cement industry).
  • Proven experience leading maintenance technicians.
