Packing & Dispatch Engineer

Job Purpose

Support packing operations by ensuring daily shift activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production and dispatch requirements. Follow up on operational processes, coordinate with maintenance and contractors, and provide timely reporting to maintain smooth plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Health & Safety:
  • Adhere to and promote compliance with all HSE policies and procedures.
  • Report unsafe acts or conditions immediately to supervisors.
  1. Operational Support:
  • Support smooth shift handovers by communicating key operational updates.
  • Assist in troubleshooting minor packing machine issues.
  1. Coordination & Communication:
  • Liaise between shift crews, maintenance, and dispatch to ensure daily packing and dispatch targets are met.
  • Support teams in minimizing shutdown times to maintain continuous operations.
  • Optimize specific power consumption to improve cost-efficiency.

 

2-Functional:

  1. Daily Operations Monitoring:
  • Follow up shift/daily activities including safety issues, packing process performance, and housekeeping status.
  • Review and track operational parameters recorded in the operators’ shift reports.
  1. Process Follow-up:
  • Follow up the Daily/Shift WBI process and periodic CCM inspection reports, ensuring all corresponding actions are submitted and tracked until closure.
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during packing activities.
  1. Procedure Development:
  • Draft and update Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) for packing processes when required.
  • Apply knowledge of energy isolation procedures to ensure safe equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  1. Maintenance Coordination:
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to address equipment issues and ensure maximum equipment availability.
  • Report any abnormalities or failures for timely resolution.
  1. Contractor Coordination:
  • Coordinate with the contractor management team regarding contractor approvals and compliance requirements.
  • Perform and report weekly field monitoring of the packing contractor to ensure performance and safety standards are met.
  1. Quality & Housekeeping:
  • Monitor product quality during packing and escalate deviations to supervisors.
  • Support housekeeping and 5S standards across the packing area.

 

Education, Qualifications & Experience

 

Education:  Bachelor Degree (Science & Engineering)

 

●          Basic knowledge of packing operations and equipment.

●          Ability to draft and review Standard Work Instructions (SWIs).

●          Understanding of energy isolation and safe maintenance practices.

●          Good organizational and follow-up skills.

●          Basic understanding of safety practices and reporting.

●          Communication skills for effective coordination with teams.

 

Experience: 

            1–3 years in cement manufacturing or similar heavy industry (preferably packing operations). (Bachelors degree holders.)
