People Partner Manager

Job Purpose

 

The People Partner Manager leads the plant People agenda to enable safe, efficient, and sustainable industrial performance. The role works closely with the People Plant Director and partners leadership team to translate Lafarge Egypt’s People strategy into effective workforce, talent, culture, and labor solutions.

 

The role drives culture and change, ensures strong people governance and labor stability, and anticipates people-related risks while strengthening organizational capability, engagement, and long-term readiness.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Health & Safety:

Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation and policies and ensure that highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained.

 

 

  1. Functional:
  1. People Strategy & Leadership
  • Define, deploy, and continuously refine the plant People strategy aligned with Lafarge Egypt People agenda, industrial priorities, and CPO direction.
  • Translate operational objectives into workforce and organizational plans supporting safety, productivity, and sustainability.
  • Lead culture transformation initiatives reinforcing Lafarge values, accountability, performance, and engagement.
  • Act as trusted advisor to the Plant Director and site leadership team on all people-related matters.
  • Ensure consistency, ethical conduct, and sound governance in all people decisions.

 

  1. Talent Management & Organizational Development
  • Lead strategic workforce planning to ensure optimal manpower, critical skills availability, and future capability readiness.
  • Drive talent identification, succession planning, and leadership pipeline development for critical and operational roles.
  • Oversee performance management cycles, ensuring quality objective setting, reviews, and development plans.
  • Design and deploy learning, upskilling, and reskilling programs for white and blue-collars populations.
  • Lead organizational design, role clarity, and structure optimization initiatives.

 

  1. Employee Relations & Labor Stability
  • Ensure a stable, compliant, and constructive labor environment across plant operations.
  • Lead employee relations matters including discipline, grievances, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Act as final escalation point for complex labor law and employee relations cases at site level.
  • Lead engagement survey action plans and continuous listening initiatives.
  • Strengthen internal communication and trust across all employee segments.

 

  1. People Operations Excellence
  • Ensure effective implementation of HR policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain full compliance with Egyptian labor law, audits, internal controls, and governance requirements.
  • Monitor HR KPIs, analytics, and reporting to support data-driven decisions.
  • Ensure service quality, discipline, and responsiveness of the People Operations team.

 

  1. Business Partnership & Change Leadership
  • Act as People Business Partner to the Industrial Director and functional leaders.
  • Provide insights to the Plant People Director on workforce trends, risks, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead and support site-wide change initiatives including restructures and productivity programs.
  • Anticipate people-related risks and proactively propose mitigation actions.

 

  1. Governance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure strong people governance, compliance, and risk management.
  • Lead HR-related audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
  • Drive continuous improvement in people processes, service delivery, and employee experience.
  • Ensure alignment with Lafarge Egypt, regional, and Group HR standards.

 

 

 

Education, Qualifications & Experience

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Continuous professional development in labor law, leadership, change management, and industrial relations is expected.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of industrial/manufacturing HR and blue-collar workforce management.
  • In-depth understanding of Egyptian Labor Law and industrial relations.
  • Expertise in workforce planning, talent management, and performance systems.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle) and HR operations.
  • Solid background in governance, audit, and compliance related to HR.
  • Competent in leading change management and organizational effectiveness initiatives.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 - 10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within multinational and industrial/manufacturing environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience leading HR functions in factory or plant settings with large labor populations.
  • Deep expertise in employee relations, engagement, talent management, and organizational development.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.
