Process Engineer

Job Purpose

Execute and/or ensure all activities related to process within the plant upstream the clinker dome through a consistent understanding of process and interaction with people of various departments.

  • Implement all safety rules and standards in each routine and daily tasks and eliminate any risk or hazard.
  • Apply all precautions to have sustainable deliveries of alternative fuels
  • Perform complete audits on the workshops of kiln & ball mill, define gaps with corrective actions.
  • Contribute in the cost of operation to reduce the thermal energy consumption, Maximize TSR & Reduce electrical power consumption

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1-Health & Safety:

  • Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation, as well as the Company's HSE Policies, Rules, and Standards.
  • Ensure the highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained at all times.
  • Follow all HSE Procedures, both Management and Operational.
  • Commit to gain all HSE competencies and capabilities relevant to the job role, as outlined in the country HSE training matrix (mandatory for the position or required based on the individual's activities).

 

 

2-Functional:

 

  • Knowledge of waste management, hazardous substances, work permits, energy isolation and safety process measurements. 
  • Daily analysis for production lines parameters by implementing tracking tools to apply process preventive rule and to evaluate kilns performance and to insure kilns stability.
  • Regular following up AFR & RDF injection as alternative fuel or Raw material to maximize its positive impact on variable cost
  • Monthly analysis for production lines parameters and investigate gap analysis form targets specially for thermal and power consumption
  • Implement Process checklist for production lines, critical sensor schedule and evaluation
  • Conduct kilns audit within a well-defined work schedule
  • Effective communication with Geocycle team regarding the deliveries and quality of different alternative fuel.
  • Work closely with quality control team for any change or requirements regarding the Raw material, alternative fuels or traditional fuel.
  • Study and implement tools and procedures to optimize the production process.
  • Assessment of refractories regarding to wear rate consumption, raw mix design and its impact on burnability and clinker reactivity.
  • Execute & prepare for trials to optimize and reduce thermal energy and support in new projects to maximize TSR.
  • Execute special duties & requests as assigned and sharing in social activities.
  • Follow up the kiln shell profile & preheater coating profile
  • Apply safety standards in all process activities
  • Execute the process activities during the plant shutdown with teams

Education, Qualifications & Experience

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemist.

 

Technical Skills:

Good knowledge of the physic-chemical products, of relevant parameters and standards applicable to cement manufacturing.

Good knowledge and understanding the heat and mass balance

Good knowledge of statistical process control methods and experimental design.

Good knowledge of project management methods

 

Experience: 1-3 Years of experience – preferred in Cement industry
