Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Purpose

 

  • Examining final product quality through concrete-based tests short and long term.
  • Provide customer technical support
  • Customer Complaints; Handling, investigating, and resolving
  • Managing concrete laboratory [Performing physical and mechanical tests, monitoring product performance in the market, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards]

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 Health & Safety:

  • Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation, as well as the Company's HSE Policies, Rules, and Standards.
  • Ensure the highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained at all times.
  • Follow all HSE Procedures, both Management and Operational.
  • Commit to gain all HSE competencies and capabilities relevant to the job role, as outlined in the country HSE training matrix (mandatory for the position or required based on the individual's activities).

 

 

Functional:

 

  • Monitor the durability (short and long) of cement products and trials to support the leadership in decision.
  • Monitor the supplied raw materials (fine and coarse aggregates, etc...)  Through conducting the needed tests to all incoming materials to specify whether these materials accepted or rejected.
  • Supervising the tests of the materials, either the cement or the supplied raw materials. Then set the concrete mix design according to the records of the materials to specify the proportions of the concrete parameters.
  • Check that the Physical, Mechanical & Rheological of products comply with the company specifications and the current standards before dispatching them.
  • Monitoring our products quality by Concrete, where the final product in the market is Concrete, therefore the cement behavior is monitored through the final product, which is concrete.
  • Continuous communication and coordination with the commercial dept. (Marketing team) for following up with them regarding the competitors cement samples collected from the market and received by the concrete lab.
  • Monitoring the cement competitors by Concrete tests (Compressive Strength-Workability) and physical tests (Compressive Strength-Setting Time-Color Degree-Fineness) for ranking our products to the competitors' products through the regularity of the quality.
  • Supervising the tests of the concrete starting from mixing the constituents, testing the workability, making the concrete cubes then finally testing the compressive strength and this is according to the different ages of the specimens. Also supervising the physical tests done for our products versus the competitors' products
  • Performing particle size distribution test for cement and other raw materials by the Particle Size Analyzers., Performing the density test of the cement or the other raw materials, performing the heat of hydration test of the cement or the other raw materials. Performing the color degree test of the cement or the other raw materials.
  • In the event of any complaint from any customer regardless of customer place; we must go to the customer to investigate his complaint, although the cause of the problem is irrelevant the cement, but our main object is the customer satisfaction. Therefore, we do not let the customer until we report the root cause analyses of the problem. If necessary, concrete models are performed by the cement, which complained to convince the customer that the problem is concerned to other reasons
  • Follow the quality of products on a daily basis and inform the quality assurance team leader of any abnormal behavior to take all appropriate actions to ensure that customers do not receive out of specifications products ,
  • Performing the required and needed tests whether laboratory or industrial for developing a new product
  • Ensure applying health and safety rules strictly during work flow in order to minimize risks and eliminate injuries.
  • Lead Root cause analysis in case of a quality incident        
  • Supervise lab technicians during physical tests , assign tasks , and assure performing tasks with a proper and safe way
  • Assure that lab technician are trained and aware of all lab devices and SOPs of all tests.
  • Benchmark our cement products vs the competitors through performing physical and chemical analysis
  • Work with supervisor to maximize our ECO planet products to reduce CO2 emissions and match group vision
  • Perform a daily analysis for final product quality and share the updates with supervisor for further actions.
  • Technical investigation for all customer complains , on site investigation at customer side to solve any raised complains with sustainable solutions
  • Regular follow up or communication with Ready mix.

 

 

 

Education

 

 

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

     Education:

Civil Engineering Bachelor’s degree.

 

Technical Skills:

  • negotiation skills, communication skills, Flowcharting, technical writing, Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, Experience using multiple mediums to resolve daily tasks, attention to detail, Ability to maintain poise and a sense of humor in stressful situations, Understanding of the process of Cement terminology, a plus 

 

    Experience:

  • 1-3 years in formulating products
