Safety Field Supervisor
Job Purpose: Manage field safety, Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS), and Energy Isolation Controls (LOTOTO) during the mechanical, electrical, and commissioning phases of Line 5. Ensures strict field adherence to the "No Plan, No Work" rule across overlapping contractor activities.
Key Accountabilities:
- Health & Safety: Lead the identification, assessment, and control of major field risks, focusing on high-crowd areas.
- Functional:

- SIMOPS Management: Ensure safe execution of overlapping scopes between construction, overhaul, and existing plant operations.
- LOTOTO & Energy Isolation: Validate energy isolation and permit-to-work effectiveness before equipment energization and pre-commissioning.
- Field Supervision: Maintain continuous field presence, ensuring all crews conduct Personal Risk Assessments (PRA) before starting tasks.
- Hot Work & Confined Space: Direct and validate atmospheric testing, fire watchers, and rescue plans for high-risk zones.
Communication & Work Relationships:
- Internal: Project Construction Safety Manager, Commissioning Manager, Plant Operations Team.
- External: Redecam Site Managers, Subcontractors.
Major Decisions/Authorities & Responsibilities:
- Commissioning Authority: Authority to block energization if LOTOTO prerequisites are unmet.
- Permit Approvals: Authority to approve or reject high-risk PTWs (Confined Space, Hot Work, Energy Isolation).
Knowledge, Skills & experience:
- Education: Engineering degree or highly specialized technical diploma.
- Certifications: NEBOSH IGC, OSHA 30-Hour, specialized LOTOTO training.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in field supervision, hazardous energy control, and pre-commissioning safety.
- Experience: 7+ years in HSE field supervision with direct experience in brownfield cement plant reactivations and commissioning.
