Storekeeper - Outsourced

Job Purpose

To support the achievement of warehouse plans by efficiently managing all store-related activities. This includes assisting the direct supervisor in meeting assigned objectives, ensuring optimal utilization of storage space, maintaining proper storage conditions for spare parts, and controlling the accurate receipt and issuance of materials. The role also requires daily problem-solving in line with approved procedures and supervising material identification, inspection, handling, and documentation processes.     

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Health & Safety:

 

  • Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation, as well as the Company's HSE Policies, Rules, and Standards.
  • Ensure the highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained at all times.
  • Follow all HSE Procedures, both Management and Operational.
  • Commit to gain all HSE competencies and capabilities relevant to the job role, as outlined in the country HSE training matrix (mandatory for the position or required based on the individual's activities).

 

  1. Functional:

 

  • Promote and sustain a strong safety culture to ensure a healthy and safe working environment for all stakeholders.
  • Comply with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and adhere strictly to company health, safety, and occupational procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work environment inside and around warehouse areas.
  • Ensure the application of risk assessment principles and work permit systems for all daily activities.
  • Actively participate in identifying and correcting unsafe conditions within the site and stores.
  • Contribute to risk reduction initiatives by reporting near misses, unsafe acts, and potential incidents when required.
  • Maintain the general appearance of stores by organizing and stocking inventory efficiently according to available space, in coordination with warehouse management.
  • Ensure proper storage and protection of inventory to prevent damage, loss, or deterioration.
  • Manage and follow up on SAP transactions related to warehouse activities and prepare required store reports.
  • Plan and perform warehouse operations including ordering, receiving, inspecting, unloading, shelving, labeling, issuing, returning, and maintaining perpetual inventory of spare parts, materials, office supplies, and consumables.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation and coordinate the disposal of obsolete or surplus materials in line with procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records to support stock control, cost optimization, and availability of required materials.
  • Coordinate freight handling, internal material movements, and minor equipment-related activities.
  • Support mail handling and courier service operations when required.
  • Operate basic office equipment and warehouse tools, including computer-based inventory systems and light material handling equipment such as forklifts (where authorized).
  • Perform additional site-specific and related duties as assigned.
  • Carry out periodic and continuous waste removal and warehouse cleaning activities to maintain housekeeping standards

 

Education, Qualifications & Experience

 

Education:

 

  • Academic Degree: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Language Proficiency: High level of literacy to read, interpret

 

Technical Skills:

 

  • ERP Proficiency: Advanced capability in managing and following up on SAP transactions and generating comprehensive store reports.
  • Inventory Control: Expert knowledge of storekeeping systems, recordkeeping, and perpetual inventory procedures.
  • Equipment Operation: Skill in operating computer-based inventory systems and authorized use of light material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts).
  • Safety & Risk Management: In-depth knowledge of risk assessment principles, work permit systems, and occupational health and safety procedures.

 

Experience:

 

  • Core Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in storekeeping, inventory control, and meticulous recordkeeping.
  • Industrial Background: Proven track record in a warehouse or industrial environment, performing utility or departmental support functions.
  • Operational Oversight: Extensive experience in the full warehouse lifecycle: ordering, receiving, inspecting, labeling, issuing, and maintaining stock rotation.
