HERACLES Group, Greece's leading company in innovative and sustainable building solutions and a member of HOLCIM, is seeking to recruit a CAD Engineer. With sustainability at the core of our strategy, the "OLYMPUS" is a pioneering project aiming to fulfill our zero carbon commitment. Our goal is the green transformation of our Group's cement production plant in Milaki, Evia, into a net zero carbon facility, utilizing innovative carbon capture technologies. 

Based in our Athens Head Offices, you will join our Project Team for this large-scale CO2 emissions avoidance "OLYMPUS" Carbon Capture project that will spearhead the decarbonization of energy intensive industries. OLYMPUS is a flagship project in Holcim’s European decarbonization roadmap. It will lead to the development of storage capacity in southern Europe. With a target operational date of 2028, the project aims to capture and store 1 million tons of CO₂ annually. In 2023, the project was selected for a grant from the EU Innovation Fund.

The Role

The CAD Engineer will be responsible for developing, modifying, and managing detailed technical drawings and 3D design models to support the successful execution of the Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) project. This role involves close collaboration  with the Project Management Team, Engineering teams, Contractors and Vendors 

●    Create, update, and manage detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for civil, structural, mechanical, electrical components and Flow Sheets of the CCS project.
●    Ensure that all drawings comply with project specifications, industry regulations, and company standards.
●    Work closely with engineers to interpret design concepts and translate them into precise technical drawings.
●    Review and validate technical drawings from subcontractors and vendors to ensure accuracy and consistency.
●    Assist in design modifications, clash detection, and constructability reviews.
●    Manage document control and maintain an organized digital repository of engineering drawings.
●    Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to provide necessary drawings and technical documentation.
●    Support Engineering team with up-to-date design documents and as-built drawings.
●    Utilize advanced CAD & BIM softwares to develop models and ensure seamless integration of project components.


Key Success Factors & Prerequisites:

●    Understanding of Engineering Principles and Drafting Standards in order to translate conceptual designs into precise and accurate digital representations
●    Effective Communication and Collaboration with design companies, contractors engineers & project management team to establish project specifications
●    Commitment to Quality and Standards, attention to Accuracy and to Detail
●    Monitor project progress and performance, acting proactively to keep projects on track.
●    Conduct site visits to oversee construction activities and address any issues promptly.

What are we looking for?

●    Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting or relevant field.
●    3-5 years of experience in CAD design for large-scale industrial projects particularly retrofitting and complex infrastructure integration.
●    Proficiency in  AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Tekla and project management tool
●    Experience in land surveying processes and geolocation principles (point cloud, BIM)
●    Strong understanding of technical standards, regulations, and best practices in industrial design.
●    Strong expertise in structural design, construction methodologies, regulatory compliance, understanding of engineering principles.
●    Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
●    Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in engineering and construction environments.
●    Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with capacity to influence.
●    Results-oriented with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
●    Strong planning and organizational skills.
●    Full professional English and advanced computer skills in MS Office and Google suite and tools
●    Strong Health & Safety mentality
