HERACLES Group, Greece's leading company in the field of building materials and a member of HOLCIM, is seeking a dynamic Junior to Mid-level executive to join our Energy Department in our Head Offices in Athens.


Role & Key Accountabilities 
The purpose of the role is to contribute to formulation and implementation of a comprehensive energy procurement strategy, monitoring the domestic energy market, managing the consumption portfolio, managing PPAs & Demand Response contracts, developing business cases, and supporting strategic decisions. In this position, you will optimize energy costs, analyze market data, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support our sustainability goals.

  • Conducting data-driven analyses of energy markets, highlighting key trends and insights especially in Electrical energy
  • Communicate with Energy Market commercial stakeholders (Suppliers-Aggregators) to optimize energy costs.
  • Monitor and provide operational support for Demand Response programs and participate in balancing markets.
  • Support the evaluation, monitoring, and management of bilateral Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) & Energy Supply Contracts
  • Support risk management and hedging strategies (Energy Derivatives & Hedging).
  • Monitor and analyze Greek energy market data (Day-Ahead, Intraday, Balancing Market).
  • Collect, process, and systematically aggregate energy data for modeling, cost forecasting, and consumption management.
  • Prepare, organize, and analyze Business Cases to evaluate energy investments, contracts, and strategic options.
  • Develop and maintain economic models, vital to tracking energy initiatives performance.
  • Draft high level corporate reports and executive dashboards for management, impacting strategic energy investments.
  • Communicate and liaise with key market stakeholders/bodies (EnEx/Henex, IPTO/ADMIE, RAAEY).
  • Collaborate internally with Plant Management, Production Teams, and Procurement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • University degree in Engineering (preferably with a focus on economics/finance) or in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2– 4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an Energy Supply Company (Energy Retailer), Aggregator (FoSE), Energy Trader, or Energy Consulting Sector.
  • Basic knowledge of the regulatory and operational framework of the Greek electricity market (Target Model, PPAs, Demand Response).
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & SAP platforms.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proven data-driven problem-solving skills to synthesize complex data into business cases and reports.
  • Self-motivated with impact-driven ownership to lead independent projects and deliver measurable results.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with a team-first mindset.
  • High agility, adaptability, and a proactive attitude committed to excellence.
