HERACLES Group, Greece's leading company in the field of building materials and a member of HOLCIM, is seeking a dynamic Milaki Plant Controller to join our Finance function.

Based at our Head Offices in Athens with a hybrid work setup, this role involves regular on-site presence at our Milaki Plant in Aliveri (approximately one day per week) to ensure seamless collaboration between operational teams and corporate finance.

 

Role & Key Accountabilities

As the Milaki Plant Controller, you will serve as a key finance business partner to the Plant Manager and Management Team, ensuring financial transparency, accurate management accounting, and strategic performance insights.

Budgeting and forecasting

  • Lead the budget and forecasting processes for the plant, working closely with Department Managers and challenging assumptions where appropriate.
  • Align plant targets with country corporate objectives at the annual budget and medium-term strategic plan levels.

Financial Analysis & Performance Tracking

  • Monitor monthly actuals vs. budget/ forecasts, evaluate cost drivers, interpret financial/ operational data and identify performance gaps, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Deliver timely and accurate reporting on actual versus budgeted results, forecasts, Plant Improvement Programs and CAPEX.
  • Translate complex operational data into strategic financial insights to support management decision-making.

CAPEX & Investment Evaluation

  • Evaluate, monitor, and conduct post-implementation performance reviews for CAPEX projects and key plant investments.

Costing & Management Accounting

  • Apply management accounting principles, including costing, internal cost allocation and analysis of technical and financial information.

Business Partnering

  • Collaborate closely with Plant Management, Operations, Production, Procurement and Head Office Finance to align operational goals with financial targets
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting and performance management within the plant.

Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure the effective implementation of relevant internal control standards, policies and procedures within the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure accurate and timely activities related to financial closing, stocktaking and reporting processes.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
  • A Master’s degree (MSc/MBA) or professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CMA) is a plus
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in Financial Controlling, Management Accounting, Plant Controlling or a similar role, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, costing and management accounting.
  • Experience in CAPEX evaluation, financial analysis and performance monitoring.
  • Good understanding of internal controls and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and SAP/ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to consolidate and interpret complex financial and operational information.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both Finance and operational teams.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and a proactive, results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to challenge constructively, identify improvement opportunities and support business decisions with sound financial analysis.
  • Fluent in English.
