About the job
HERACLES Group, Greece's leading company in the field of building materials and a member of Holcim, is seeking to cover the position of Industrial Automation Engineer for our Cement Plant in Milaki.

Role & Key Accountabilities
The Industrial Automation Engineer ensures the optimal performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of the plant's automation systems. This includes oversight of PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and other automated control systems to support production efficiency, safety, and quality standards.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize industrial automation systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS, HMIs, sensors, and networks).
• Coordinate and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of automation equipment.
• Design and execute the implementation of automation projects and upgrades.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve process reliability and performance.
• Keep documentation updated (software backups, electrical drawings, functional descriptions).
• Monitor and analyze process data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Participate actively in plant shutdowns, commissioning, and start-up activities related to automation.

Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Automation or related field.
• 3 years of experience in industrial automation within manufacturing, cement, energy, or similar heavy industries.
• Solid knowledge of PLC programming
• Experience with SCADA/DCS systems and industrial communication protocols.
• Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems.
• Problem-solving mindset and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
• Good communication skills
• Very good English skills.
• Teamwork and cross-department collaboration.
• Proactivity and continuous improvement orientation.
• Safety-first mindset.
