HERACLES Group, Greece's leading company in the field of building materials and a member of HOLCIM, is seeking a dynamic Mine Engineer to join LAVA, one of the fastest growing and most dynamic companies in the industrial minerals production sector, based on Gyali island between Kos and Nisyros.

Role & Key Accountabilities

As a Mine Engineer, you will be actively involved in the planning and monitoring of mining activities, quarry operations, equipment performance, Health & Safety, environmental compliance and the sustainable management of mineral resources. Working closely with the operational and technical teams, you will contribute to the safe, efficient and sustainable operation of the site.

  • Supports the planning and preparation of mining operations. 

  • Maintains records of daily maintenance activities and first-level inspections for mobile and stationary equipment. 

  • Monitors quarry activities to ensure safety and legal compliance. 

  • Assists with communication and coordination with authorities and stakeholders. 

  • Participates in and actively contributes to reviewing quarry reserves and evaluating raw materials. 

  • Supports the Sustainable Development department in monitoring and evaluating the performance of the Environmental Management System. 

  • Ensures compliance with the environmental conditions as defined in the operating permit of the units under his/her responsibility (water & waste management, etc.). 

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Mining Engineering / Mineral Resources Engineering. 

  • 2-5 years of experience in an industrial or quarry environment will be considered an advantage. 

  • Excellent command of the English language. 

  • Proactive and self-motivated approach. 

  • Results-oriented mindset, with a strong commitment to Health & Safety. 

  • Team spirit and effective communication skills.
